The mill nestles in peaceful seclusion in a remote valley surrounded by woodland. A mountain stream runs within feet of its stone walls. Its huge water wheel still turns, silently marking the years as generations of dippers and wagtails raise their broods, while salmon spawn in the river.
The mill has been sympathetically converted into four spacious, fully central heated, self-contained apartments. Each apartment sleeps 4, so parties of 16 can be accommodated. Each has a double bedroom with the luxury of a four poster bed, a separate twin bedroom a lounge/diner, kitchen with full sized oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and slim-line dishwasher, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. There is plenty of parking at the mill and you can
drive right up to the porch to unload.
The Mill is built on a hill side. The driveway is at the height of the mill's 1st floor. The entrance porch is on a bridge spanning the leat. At this level, you'll find 'Carders Corner' and 'Spinners', which are opposite each other. Down one flight of stairs and you reach 'Wheel House' and the' Bobbin Box', which both also have doors directly into the garden (Carders Corner and Spinners have doors out to stairways into the garden).
Please see apartment layouts below:
Gardens surround the mill, with lawned areas to sit and picnic, a stone BBQ, a butterfly garden, steps into the river to paddle and pergolas to watch the world go by. There is a Summer House to relax in with a library, stereo and CDs. There is extensive woodland all around the mill. There is a trail into the woods, with rustic seats and a bug pit for "mini-beast safaris". Footpaths run through the woods and up the river valleys to the open fields beyond.
This location has been awarded 4 stars by Visit Wales and given a Silver award in the Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards 2011. It has been given a 'Top Vacation Rental' award by Flip key and is rated excellent by Flipkey and Trip Adviser. The Mill also has a 'Walkers Welcome' and 'Cyclists Welcome' award from Visit Wales as the facilities at this location include amenities such as a drying room, maps for walkers and somewhere to store bikes. There is also a 'Green Dragon' certification for sustainable tourism. Godremamog is an ideal base for exploring the wonderful beaches and mountains of West Wales. It is centrally placed between Carmarthen (the oldest town in Wales) and Cardigan. It's easy to tour Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Cardigan Bay - you can see two counties from your kitchen window! The nearest beaches (Poppit Sands or Llangrannog) are 25 minutes drive away, the nearest castle (Newcastle Emlyn) is 15 minutes drive.

Fishing:
The Mill is in the middle of the Teifi and Towi sea trout fishing area - Cenarth is 15 minutes drive and Nantgaredig about 40 minutes drive. The salmon leap in Cenarth is amazing in November.
Here at the mill, there are 2 rivers running around and through the garden - the Mamog and the Cych. Guests have fishing rights over about 100 yards of the river Cych - small salmon, sewin and eels swim in the Cych in the summer; in the winter, Sewin and salmon come up the river to spawn.
You must hold a valid rod licence to fish in the rivers, lakes and ponds in the area, if you are over 12. You can get a rod licence from any Post Office, or the Environment Agency website which also has details of local by-laws for closed seasons, size limits and method restrictions. You will also need a permit from the owner of the water, which you will probably have to pay for (there is no charge for fishing at the mill). There is a freezer in your apartment and you can come and go at any time during your stay at the mill. Sea-fishing bylaws can be found here.
Fishing seasons in Carmarthenshire are:
-
Sea-trout & non migratory brown trout: 1st April - 31st October
-
Salmon: 16th June - 7th October
-
Course fishing - no statutory closed season but check with owners 16th March - 15th June and also during freezing weather
