Property Overview

Location
|
Easily accessible but exceptionally private: this unique lochside location offers unrivalled views, peace and seclusion in the heart of Loch Lomond National Park. Dating from 1876 when it was built as a country escape for a Glasgow, this family home is now available as a comfortable holiday retreat.
Spacious public rooms boast stunning loch views, and a great kitchen and utility room provide everything you need. The double bay windows make for a mesmerising view of the loch and the hills. To one side of the stained- glass hallway is the dining room, the other the drawing room.
The kitchen is a sociable affair with a window seat for lazy lingering, an inspirational inventory and rangemaster cooker.
A wonderful garden, bounded by waterfalls, leads to the beach. Or you can walk or cycle out of the gate and onto miles of forest and mountain trails. Beyond the waterfall boundaries of the natural garden, potter on Inverlounin’s own beach under the watchful eye of the seals or connect with miles of stunning forest and mountain walks plus cycle trails. Watersporters can even launch or bring their own craft (mooring available). Boats and tackle can also be hired locally.
Whilst the house itself is great it’s the outside that lifts Inverlounin House to the exceptional. The private, south-facing gardens are informal with areas of lawn and shrubs. Lots of nooks and crannies to find a quiet place to relax or have family fun. There are the waterfalls to admire and two direct accesses to the pebble beach.
Paths lead in all directions and you’ll connect in a matter of minutes with the Argyll Forest Park network of short and long-distance walks and cycle routes. If that’s too gentle there are any number of rugged mountains within striking distance.
Want to launch a boat or kayak? Then this is the place. If its a larger vessel then 4WD and wet/drysuit needed as its a gently shelving beach. A yacht mooring offshore is available for use by arrangement.
Open the front door and you could throw a stone in the sea.
