Self catering holidays in luxury lodges on Loch Lomond, Scotland. Set in the beautiful National Park and yet only 35 minutes from Glasgow, the Waterfront Lodges are the ideal location for long stays and short breaks too.
The lodges are sympathetically grouped on gently sloping ground overlooking Loch Lomond. Each lodge can sleep up to 6 people in great comfort. Both of the ensuite bedrooms can be made up with twin or king-size double beds to order. In addition each lodge has a double sofa bed and a hydrotherapy steam shower bathroom. Many of the bedrooms have private balconies. Why not eat your breakfast on a balcony whilst watching the local Ospreys catch theirs in the Loch?
The elegant open plan lounge and dining areas are spacious and airy and are decorated with a sophisticated, contemporary Scottish style. With the diamond lodges appointed with the superlux furnishings package & built & equipped to highest five star standards. All lodges look South towards the Loch over their own private patio. There are wide screen televisions, DVD/CDs as well as Wifi broadband internet connections and an office bureau for those that can't leave work behind. The luxury kitchens are off the dining area and are fully equipped with everything needed to serve a full scale dinner party.
The lodges are all architect designed, locally sourced, and built with Scottish timber from managed and sustainable forests. The living eco roofs, made from sedum alpines, are a great talking point too. To ensure that the strictest environmental credentials are met eco detergents are provided free of charge.
Pets are allowed in certain lodges (not diamond). A £35 extra cleaning charge applies. All lodges come with bed linen and towels and a starter provision of wc rolls, cleaning detergents, tea, coffee and sugar.
The WATERFRONT is the only all five star lodge site on the quiet and sunniest side of Loch Lomond. Boats and bike hire can be arranged through lodge reception. Beauty therapy sessions in the privacy of your lodge can also be booked. There are also facilities for functions, weddings, conferences or small group meetings. Exclusive access to Loch Lomond is our greatest resource. With 18 acres of loch shore to explore, guests can walk, barbeque, fish or swim in one of the world's most famous beauty spots. We are at the widest part of the largest fresh water expanse in Britain.

Fishing
Wild trout, salmon, enormous pike, perch and powan, a fish unique to Loch Lomond abound in the Loch. Our shore line is a favourite haunt of game and coarse fishermen and is now available exclusively to Waterfront guests. Friendly ghillies ( instructors) can be hired to show novices the delights of this sport or to accompany the more ambitious fisherman to the remote mountain lochs in the area.
Every year the king of the fish, the wild Atlantic Salmon migrate from the sea back to the river of their birth. Along with Sea Trout, these game fish make their way from northern seas into the Firth of Clyde. From here they travel up the River Leven and enter Loch Lomond at Balloch. The fish linger in the loch, providing increasingly good sport before leaving it again to other rivers including the nearby River Endrick to spawn. Loch Lomond has an enviable reputation as a course fishing venue. In 1947, T. Morgan caught the Scottish record Pike which weighed an incredible 47lbs 11oz (21.63kg) from the Loch. Around the Balmaha area, smaller fish such as Perch, Roach, Ruffe and Dace can be caught. The Loch is also one of the few homes in Scotland to the elusive Powan. It is a variety of the fresh-water Houting - a "whitefish" with an adipose fin. It can grow to around 18" (46cm) and a weight of 2lbs (907g). The Powan is a protected species and if caught should be quickly returned.
