Portnellan Overview
|
|
Welcome to Portnellan located just outside the picturesque village of Crianlarich in Glen Dochart – a stunning Highland landscape with over 1300 years' experience of providing that special Scottish hospitality. A stunning hidden secret with a spectacular Highland landscape with mountains, lochs and glens in every direction. The peace and tranquility is all around you whether you choose to watch the playful birds in the trees and bird feeders all around the estate, listen to the roar of Ben More burn that runs nearby, ramble the numerous mountains in your back garden or explore the loch and river on a boat or canoe there is something for everyone to enjoy and take home as a fond memory.
A short walk from the lodges are 2 lochs (Loch Luibhair and Loch Dochart) and an adjoining river offering 5 miles of game fishing. A wee island on Loch Dochart where Eilean Dochart castle ruin is situated. The lochs, castle and river can be explored by the free use of the estate kayaks canadian canoes and rowing boats. There is also free use of bicycles. On the estate there is a visitors centre offering you free use of over 200 videos and DVD's, local maps and information, walks in the area, board games and magazines. Most lodges have WiFi but for those that don't there is a WiFi hotspot.
Portnellan is located in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, amidst the magical part of the Central Highlands people think of as 'real' Scotland. The picture books, the vivid memory of ex-pats, the immediate response of the first-time visitor... it is all here, all year round.
The careful placement of each lodge ensures you will always have a view from your front door. However
you have not given up everything to the wild and woolly Highlands - our central location means everything you could want to visit is within reasonable traveling distance.
