Property Overview

Located in a lovely setting at the head of Loch Sween, Seafield has been our family home and a holiday destination for nearly 100 years. We are fortunate to live in this very beautiful area amongst the hills, woodland, forest and lochs of Knapdale and look forward to sharing it with you. The way of life at Seafield has changed over the years, but it remains a place of great beauty and peacefulness. The pace of life on the West Coast of Scotland is a little slower, the air is fresher and you can walk for miles in stunning scenery without seeing another person.

We were ‘green’ before it was fashionable and this has helped us to continue to improve the facilities for our visitors. Measures in place at Seafield include encouraging our visitors to separate their waste for recycling and composting, using low energy lights and appliances where possible, encouraging non-wasteful use of energy and water and using environmentally friendly and recycled products where appropriate. The log boiler and woodburner provide heat from locally sourced logs. We have installed photovoltaic panels at Seafield Stable Cottage and Kirkland Lodge to provide some of our electricity. We hope visitors will use local shops and producers as much as possible. None of the measures in place will compromise your comfort in any way. You can borrow bikes to explore the area.

Seafield Byre and Stable Cottages:
This excellent conversion of the traditional stone built farm steading next to the farmhouse provides two very comfortable self contained holiday cottages with everything you need. Each cottage sleeps 4 plus a cot. Byre and Stable Cottages have access to free wi-fi. There are grassy areas and picnic benches for sitting, eating or relaxing and a summerhouse to enjoy the evenings, safe from the midges.

Stable Cottage adjoins Byre Cottage and has south and west facing windows. It is a good cottage for families as it has a bath as well as a shower and the large hall has lots of room for wellies, outdoor gear and pushchair's. There is a baby bath, stair gate and high chair for toddlers. It also has an automatic washing machine. You can hang washing and outdoor gear in the open barn opposite the cottage.

Other accommodation available at this location:
Seafield Byre Cottage - Sleeps 2, 2 bedrooms
Seafield Kirkland Lodge - Sleeps 3, 2 bedrooms - Pet friendly
