Property & Estate Overview
Location

Welcome to Torrisdale Castle - The superb range of self-catering properties on Kintyre's east coast provide accommodation for groups of between 2 and 10 people. The estate offers the perfect opportunity to experience the comforts of modern day living whilst relaxing within a stunning and stress-free environment.

Within the ground floor of the castle are three spacious self-catering apartments and set within the peaceful wooded grounds are a further four superb cottages and houses.

Garden Cottage is a real gem. Situated on a wooded hillside overlooking the former walled garden, the property was fully refurbished in 2011 and comprises a cosy double bedroom, bathroom with shower and bath, a comfortable sitting room/dining room, and a separate kitchen. With timber lined walls, working shutters, a feature fireplace with log burning stove, and insulated to the highest level, this cottage offers year round accommodation and is the ideal romantic hideaway. The new outdoor wood burning eco hot tub, installed early April 2012, has been an instant hit. Load up the hot tub with wood, go for a walk to the beach, come back, strip off and jump in with a glass of champagne!

The Kintyre Way passes through the estate, which is an ideal base for those looking to complete the long distance walk in individual stretches, being almost halfway on the 87 mile route.

The castle was extended to the north and the south in 1903 and 1908 respectively by William Macalister Hall, born in the castle and son of Peter Hall, to form the present building. For many years thereafter the estate's economy was driven by agriculture, forestry and fishing, until the estate diversified into tourism.

Other accommodation includes:
Lephincorrach Farmhouse - sleeps up to 10 in 5 bedrooms
South Lodge - sleeps up to 2 in 1 bedrooms
Glen House - sleeps up to 7 in 3 bedrooms
Tangy Castle Apartment - sleeps up to 5 in 2 bedrooms
Killean Castle Apartment - sleeps up to 6 in 2 bedrooms
