Welcome to Torrisdale Castle - The superb range of self-catering properties on Kintyre's east coast provide self catering accommodation for groups of between 2 and 10 people. The estate offers the perfect opportunity to experience the comforts of modern day living whilst relaxing within a stunning and stress-free environment.
Lephincorrach is the former estate farmhouse and its size makes it ideal for large families or two families holidaying together. Sleeping up to 10 people, this house offers excellent value, and having been fully refurbished in 2011 is the most popular on the estate. With working shutters in four of the rooms downstairs, a large stove in the living room, 1/2 metre of insulation and a new super-efficient hot water system, the house also has fantastic 'green' credentials.
The house has 5 bedrooms - 2 double rooms, a room with full-sized single bunk beds, and 2 twin bedded rooms upstairs. There is a large breakfasting kitchen with adjoining dining room, sitting room, bathroom with bath and electric shower, shower room and separate WC. A large enclosed garden to the front of the property is ideal for ball games or simply to sit in and enjoy the wonderful scenery.
The Kintyre Way passes through the estate, which is an ideal base for those looking to complete the long distance walk in individual stretches, being almost halfway on the 87 mile route.
Within the ground floor of the castle are three spacious self-catering apartments and set within the peaceful wooded grounds are a further four superb cottages and houses.
Other accommodation includes:
Garden Cottage - sleeps up to 2 in 1 bedroom
South Lodge - sleeps up to 2 in 1 bedrooms

Torrisdale Castle
Torrisdale Castle & Estate is an ideal location to relax and absorb the glorious scenery, nature and wildlife of the Kintyre peninsula. You can explore the castle grounds with its many trails (keeping an eye out for deer and golden eagles); climb the nearby hills, including Beinn an Tuirc, Kintyre's highest peak, to enjoy some spectacular views; and visit the estate's sandy beach, Torrisdale Bay, to enjoy the views of Arran, seabirds and the seals basking on the rocks.
The castle was extended to the north and the south in 1903 and 1908 respectively by William Macalister Hall, born in the castle and son of Peter Hall, to form the present building. For many years thereafter the estate's economy was driven by agriculture, forestry and fishing, until the estate diversified into tourism.
