Welcome to Torrisdale Castle - The superb range of self-catering properties on Kintyre's east coast provide accommodation for groups of between 2 and 10 people. The estate offers the perfect opportunity to experience the comforts of modern day living whilst relaxing within a stunning and stress-free environment.
Within the ground floor of the castle are three spacious self-catering apartments and set within the peaceful wooded grounds are a further four superb cottages and houses.
South Lodge is a lovely B-Listed cottage situated at the main gates of the estate with superb views towards the Kilbrannan Sound and the Isle of Arran. A small sandy beach is located across the quiet public road and a secluded garden lies adjacent to the cottage, next to the burn that leads to the sea.
The Kintyre Way passes through the estate, which is an ideal base for those looking to complete the long distance walk in individual stretches, being almost halfway on the 87 mile route.
The castle was extended to the north and the south in 1903 and 1908 respectively by William Macalister Hall, born in the castle and son of Peter Hall, to form the present building. For many years thereafter the estate's economy was driven by agriculture, forestry and fishing, until the estate diversified into tourism.
