Fishing:
Rudyard was once the northern mecca for match angling and even today many angling clubs fish regular matches at the lake. Rudyard is a mixed fishery holding pike to 28lb, perch to 4lb 4oz, carp to twenties, bream and tench. You can fish from over 150 permanent pegs, or from a boat which can be hired, or you can launch your own. Stoke Angling book allows 2 rods but you can fish with up to 4 rods by purchasing extra day tickets on the bank from the Ranger. Fishing is from dawn to dusk, night fishing for pike is NOT allowed, no fishing is allowed in the conservation area at the north end of the lake. Day ticket angling is available and the ranger comes to you to collect the daily fee of £4 for adults and £3 for juveniles/OAP. Please note that NRA rod licences are required.
