The Norfolk Broads
The Norfolk Broads is Britian's newest National Park and is a series of inland waterways covering a beautiful area that is well over 100 square miles. Seven interconnecting rivers and 63 broads (lakes), many pretty riverside villages, beautiful countryside and diverse landscapes makes up the Norfolk Broads and has been coined Britain's 'Magical Waterland'.
The Norfolk Broads National Park offers over 125 miles of navigable waterways and one of the best ways to explore the market towns, riverside villages, waterside pubs and pretty broads is by boat which can be hired from many different locations throughout.
The whole area offers some excellent fishing ideal for the expert, novice, coarse and pike fishermen alike. Hiring out a holiday cottage on the riverfront, casting a line from your doorstep is one of the most popular pastimes on Broads.
Many watersports are also available with sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking all very popular. Another great way to explore the Broads is by bike, many cycling trails and paths wind alongside the rivers and broads.

Wildlife on the Broads
The Norfolk Broads is the UK’s largest protected wetland and makes for a unique home of plant and animal life. It is made up many marshes, reedbeds, and conservation areas or SSSI's. It provides the ideal haven for a great variety of wildlife including otters, colourful kingfishers, the rare bittern, marsh harriers, swallowtail butterflies, dragonflies and the timid Chinese water deer. It is a nature lovers delight and one of the best ways to explore and experience the waterways and reed beds is by boat or canoe. Do not forget your camera!
