Property Overview
Map Location

Waters Edge Boathouse is an attractive cabin with hot tub right on the banks of the peaceful and picturesque Rudyard Lake, near Leek. Nestled within the Staffordshire Moorlands and surrounded by woodland, the two and a half mile long lake made such an impression on Rudyard Kipling's parents that when their son was born, they named him after it! The interior of this property has a contemporary Scandinavian feel with exposed wooden beams and a log burner in the open plan living and dining area.  The kitchen is well-equipped and the covered decking has a gas BBQ, a bar and a games area making it ideal for socialising. Two of the bedrooms open out onto a large balcony overlooking the lake.

Waters Edge Boathouse is ideal for both relaxation and outdoor activities. In addition to the bubbling hot tub, the property comes with a number of boats (and life jackets) so you can get out and enjoy the water. You could even paddle along to the cafe or have a drink at the Hotel Rudyard.  There is also a very reasonable seven day a week carvery restaurant within the hotel, which is great for when you don't fancy cooking! Walkers, runners and cyclists will love the five and a half mile tree-lined path around the lake.  Fishing is also popular here and angling clubs often hold matches at Rudyard. Please see the separate 'Fishing' section on the right of this page.

If you can tear yourself away from this delightful property, there are plenty of things to see and do in the surrounding area. Alton Towers is only 15 minutes away and the stunning Peak District is also close by. Please see the "Local Area & Highlights" section for more information. This beautiful and well-appointed cabin really does offer something for everyone, not just groups of family and friends. With 10% off for couples, Waters Edge Boathouse also makes an ideal choice for honeymoons or romantic getaways.
