Bridge Cottage is a 3 bedroom renovated country cottage with a very cosy sitting room with log burner and TV with freeview, downstairs cloakroom, dining room and modern kitchen and 3 bedrooms: one double bedroom, one twin and a single room.

To the front of the property is a low walled garden area, with garden furniture and a BBQ is available on request. The cottage itself is flanked by open fields to one side and the wharf along the other. There is private gated car parking.

The cottage is situated next to Twyford Wharf Narrow Boats on the South Oxford Canal. A perfect base for visiting the City of Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Silverstone and exploring the beautiful Cotswold villages that is nearby.

Twyford Wharf also operates a day boat called 'Comet', which may be available to hire during your stay, if not previously booked. Enjoy a day cruising along the canal, visiting a great pub for lunch, cream tea and returning to the Wharf around 5 pm.

Location Information

Bridge Cottage provides an ideal base for visiting Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Silverstone.

Explore the popular Cotswolds towns and villages such as Burford, Stowe and Bourton-on-The Water - all are within an hour's drive of the cottage.

Adderbury village is approximately 5 minutes' drive from the cottage. In the village there are a couple of pubs, a coffee house, plus a playing field and Adderbury Lakes.

Banbury town centre is within a 15 minutes' drive from the cottage - which offers plenty of shopping and a cinema. There is also a Sainsburys and Morrisons supermarket for picking up provisions.

Special notes relating to your accommodation.
Please be aware that Bridge cottage is situated within the Wharf at Twyford Wharf Narrow Boats and is a family-orientated park, therefore we do not accept stag or hen parties. No Group bookings may be accepted if you wish to book a same sex group, when contacting the park please have the party type, make-up, and nature of the party ready.

Booking: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking, your remaining balance will be due six weeks prior to arrival.

Reservations: The Company reserves the right to refuse to hand over the cottage to any person who, in their opinion, is not suitable to take charge of it. In this event all money will be refunded in full and the Hirers shall have no other claim against the Company. Families only - All Male/Female parties and mixed parties under 25yrs at the owners discretion. If, owing to circumstances beyond the control of the Company, it is unable to provide the Cottage, the Company will refund in full all monies paid and the Hirers shall have no further claim against the Company.

Cancellation: If you have to cancel, telephone the Company immediately, then confirm in writing. The Company will make every effort to re-let the cottage for an administrative charge of 25% of the hire fee. If unsuccessful you remain responsible for the balance of the hire fees. The company does not have a holiday cancellation scheme. Cancellations within the six weeks prior to your booking will not attract any refund. Please ensure you have private cancellation/ holiday insurance.

Security Deposit: A damage deposit/good housekeeping deposit is required for all bookings of £250.00 which is payable on arrival via card. This is taken as a pre-authorisation and will be held by your bank for up to 10 days.
Lead guests must report to reception to check in. All guests are required to take good care of the accommodation and its contents and leave them clean and tidy on the day of departure, and in a similar condition to when they arrived. The lead guest is responsible to pay Twyford Wharf for all significant damage, breakages or loss caused by it and/or their guests.
Please let us know about any breakages or damage so that we can arrange to replace/repair the item(s) in time for the arrival of the next guests.

Our Terms/Park Rules: You are responsible for the safe use of the equipment i.e. BBQ, etc, within the scope of rules you will be given at check in. Please note Bridge Cottage is strictly non-smoking. If you do smoke, please do so outside the cottage.
Check in is between noon and 2pm on the day of your arrival. If you need to check in after 2pm, please call us with your arrival time, as otherwise a late check in charge may apply out of office hours. On the day of departure please ensure you vacate your accommodation no later than 10.00am on the day of your departure.

For the avoidance of doubt the accommodation at Bridge Cottage is not a party venue, and as such, events such as private parties, celebrations or meetings are not permitted for more than the number guests listed on the booking confirmation, in addition to a maximum number of four visitors and is subject to the Twyford Wharf’s prior approval. Visitors cannot stay overnight, and the name and number of visitors must be provided to reception on checking in and when they will be arriving. Your guests will be bound by the Park Rules.

Events held by guests cannot affect the enjoyment of other people within The Wharf area or cause disruption. If you do/propose to do any of these things, we can refuse to hand over the accommodation to you or can repossess it. If we do this, we will treat this that you are cancelling the booking. In these situations, you will not receive a refund of any money you have paid for your booking. We will not be legally responsible to you because of this situation (for example, for any costs or expenses you have to pay due to not being able to stay in the accommodation, such as the cost of finding alternative accommodation). We are not under any obligation to find any alternative accommodation for you.

You must not exceed the number of guests (max 5) that you declared at the time of booking to sleep overnight in the lodge/log cabin. Even if there is spare accommodation in your lodge you must notify us in advance if you wish any visitors to stay over. This is so we can comply with fire regulations and health and safety. We need to know who is in the Cottage.

Guests staying in the Cottage will notice that they will enter via a five-bar gate This gate is code operated which will be notified to you when your final payment has been rec'd. Thereafter entry will be by use of the code but for the safety of our guests they serve a useful function by discouraging uninvited people to gain access to the Wharf. Your co-operation is appreciated.

Pets, dogs only – no cats, are permitted in our cottage (max 2, own bedding to be bought) Under no circumstances are pets allowed upstairs.
Please note that you cannot move furniture around in the accommodation. In the event that it is moved, or equipment is removed from the properties, you will be charged a fee for rectifying this, which will be taken from your security deposit.

Footwear - Outside shoes are to be left in the hall on entry and a selection of slippers are available for guests to wear in the cottage – your co-operation is much appreciated – thank you.

We do not provide travel cots or highchairs at the cottage; if you bring these with you and must move the furniture to accommodate them, please return the furniture back to how you found it before departure to avoid any charges.

On arrival you will be allocated two parking spaces (max) should you have a third car this will need to be parked outside the Wharf in the lay-by.

Fishing is free of charge and a valid Fishing Licence is required by law. To be able to fish at Bridge Cottage, you and any members of your party who want to fish, must present your fishing Licence at check-in. You must not be a nuisance to other guests on the Wharf and you must observe the Fishing Rules. Fishing is prohibited from the quay area but is available from the Canal edge directly opposite on the canal next to your accommodation. Children under the age of sixteen must be supervised at all times.

Quiet time - Please keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 10.00pm and 9.00am. Absolute quiet between midnight and 8.00am must be observed.

Any vehicles exceeding a long wheel-based van will need approval from the park prior to arrival and will be required to park outside of the compound in the lay-by.

'Comet' - Twyford Wharf own a 40ft day boat (narrow Boat which may be available for a small hire fee during your stay - please check on booking if Comet is available during your stay).

Oxford City - just under 1 hour drive or by public transport.

Adderbury Lakes - 1.8 hectare local nature reserve in Adderbury, Oxfordshire.

Broughton Castle - a fortified Manor House, gardens and tea room located near Banbury. Open for visitors between April and September on Wednesdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.

Birdland Park & Gardens - visit the park and discover a range of birds, with riverside walks along with a dinosaur trail for children and 'close encounters' with penguins, lizards, tortoises and snakes.

Silverstone - enjoy an adrenaline filled day at Silverstone by booking in a track day or just watching an event.
