This beautifully furnished ground floor cottage provides you with that home from home feel. Set in the beautiful grounds of Foxholes Lake the accommodation sleeps 2 with flexible options of a twin room or a king size double.
The backdrop and setting to Foxholes Lake is very scenic with the gentle rolling hills of the Derbyshire countryside as far as the eye can see. This allows you to relax instantly in your surroundings. The cottage has all the mod cons you need with a well equipped kitchen, walk in shower in the bathroom and an open plan lounge and dining area for relaxation time after your busy day. Decorated with a soothing and neutral palette you will drift off to sleep in no time and awaken to the serene sounds of nature all around you. On awakening make yourself a freshly brewed coffee and head out to your patio area to enjoy the early morning sunshine.
This tranquil lakeside position is enhanced with the added benefit of excellent fishing on site. Fishing is a highlight of your visit to Lakeview Lodge where there is a strong local fishing community spirit and it provides any avid angler an unrivalled experience. Fishing for 2 guests is included in the price of your holiday and you can fish at a time that suits you, the floodlit lake allows you to fish under the stars if you so desire. This beautiful location can be hired exclusively at an additional cost. This provides you with complete privacy or undisturbed fishing sessions. In between casts or if the weather turns you are welcome to make use of the Angler’s Lodge. Here you can chat with other anglers in this social space with some relaxed seating and the option for some refreshments.
If you wish to get out and explore, then the beautiful Derbyshire countryside is on your doorstep with a variety of activities to choose from. The nearby town of Matlock is perfect for picking up some supplies, having a spot of lunch and exploring the independent boutique shops. Nearby Matlock Bath is perfect for a stroll along the Victorian riverside promenade. Take a trip on the Heights of Abraham Cable Car where you will be greeted with panoramic views over Matlock and the Derwent Valley.
For heritage and history lovers take a 20 minute drive to Chatsworth House Estate. Make sure you plan a full day for your visit. This Grade I listed house has been home to the Devonshire family for 17 generations. With over 25 rooms to explore including the magnificent painted hall and the state rooms you will gain great insight into the Devonshire family over the years. After a restful stop for lunch spend the afternoon exploring the 105 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens designed by Capability Brown including the popular cascade fountain. On your way home if you have time, stop by the charming town of Bakewell home to the famous “Bakewell Tart”.
