It is surrounded by dramatic mountains, astounding lochs, lush parkland and pristine rivers and is within easy driving distance of Edinburgh, Sterling or Glasgow. Ideal for anybody who’s seeking a tranquil, self-catering retreat, these comfortable lodges are perfect for couples or families, activity holidays or a leisurely fishing break. Holidaymakers return here year after year and it’s not hard to see why; with walks and adventures on your doorstep, the craggy shores of Loch Tay to explore, an abundance of wildlife including deer and otters, excellent fishing, clean comfortable properties and great onsite facilities. Centrally situated on the estate, Ivy Tree Cottage comes with fantastic views across the sparkling waters of Loch Tay towards the distant hills and verdant countryside. This pretty whitewashed detached bungalow-style property is just perfect for families, particularly if they have small children as there’s a lovely secure south-facing walled garden with a furnished patio – perfect for al-fresco meals or an evening under the clear starry skies with a cuppa (or a wee dram). Sleeping a maximum of four people, Ivy Tree Cottage has one double bedroom with a small en-suite (toilet and basin) and one twin room. The recently updated family bathroom has a shower, toilet and wash basin. The property has a well-equipped kitchen with a cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. A separate sitting room / dining area has comfortable sofa seating plus a sturdy dining table and chairs. There is a large flat screen TV/DVD and Wifi is available if required. Underfloor and radiator central heating. Allocated parking is provided next to the cottage.
For off-site activities and days out there are numerous places to visit. You can feed the animals at Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre, take a Highland Safari, go white water rafting or quad biking; take a boat trip around Loch Tay or play a round of golf in Killin. History buffs can visit Castle Menzies or Doune Castle (where the TV series Outlander is filmed) and nature lovers can take a walk around beautiful Dochart Falls. Evening time, why not visit Birks Cinema at Aberfeldy to watch the latest blockbuster?
The Boathouse restaurant and bar serves up a hearty menu inspired by a delicious range of Scottish products including Shetland mussels, freshly landed fish, steak pie or haggis with ‘neeps and tatties’. Themed evenings take place, especially during the summer months, and the bar area offers a warm and cosy welcome if you fancy a drink. There is also a fabulous outdoor seating area which overlooks the impressive loch, an absolutely wonderful place to enjoy some sunny afternoons or amazing night skies. Location Information
Ivy Tree Cottage is located at Loch Tay in the Scottish Highlands. Only a short drive to the pretty village of Killin with a variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants.
The Falls of Dochart is located just outside Killin towards the western end of Loch Tay.
There are numerous attractions in the local area, including The Ben Lawers Mountain Range, Loch Tay Safaris, White Water Rafting, McQueen Gin Distillery and Castle Menzies.
The property is set in a private 140 acre Highland estate. On-site facilities include a bistro, a great range of outdoor activities and excellent fishing.
