Situated in the Central Highlands, on the shores of picturesque Loch Tay, the Loch Tay Highland Lodges estate in Perthshire can be found in one of the most stunningly beautiful areas of Scotland. It is surrounded by dramatic mountains, breath-taking lochs, parkland and crystal clear rivers and is within easy driving distance of Edinburgh, Sterling and Glasgow. Ideal for visitors who are seeking a tranquil, self-catering retreat, these comfortable lodges are perfect for couples or families, activity holidays or a leisurely fishing break with friends. Holidaymakers return year after year and it’s not hard to see why; with walks and adventures on the doorstep, the craggy shores of Loch Tay to explore, an abundance of wildlife to spot including deer and otters, excellent fishing opportunities, clean comfortable properties and great onsite facilities. Amenities include The Boathouse restaurant and bar which extends a warm Scottish welcome to all guests; there is a covered fire pit area where you can chillax; a children’s playground with swings, slides and a climbing frame; plus a snug and warm central recreation room with a log burning stove. An array of activities are available to guests including boat hire, archery, axe throwing, golf, paddle-boarding, gorge walking and guided canoe tours.
Eldersburn Lodge sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms and has an absolutely lovely setting, close to a beautiful waterfall on the estate. There is a large south-facing balcony which houses a luxurious hot tub, providing you with some amazing views across the loch and surrounding woodland. Set on a single level, this splendid detached lodge has been fully modernised and is furnished to a very high standard; the open-plan living area features a well-equipped kitchen which includes a cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave; there is a sturdy dining table with 6 upholstered chairs and a cosy sofa area with a wonderful log burner – absolutely perfect for fresh mornings or chilly evenings! Floor to ceiling windows give you some of the best views imaginable, straight across the loch to the wonderful mountains and hillside woodland. To the side of the lodge, accessed directly from the living room you can enjoy the spacious balcony which has solid outdoor furniture and the aforementioned electric hot tub – a wonderful chance to have a relaxing soak or to enjoy al fresco meals whilst admiring your fabulous surroundings. There is a large flat screen TV/DVD player and Wifi is available throughout the property. Eldersburn Lodge has one en-suite double bedroom and two twin rooms. A spacious and modern family bathroom provides you with a full size bath (shower over), WC and hand basin. Bed linen and towels are provided. Allocated parking is available for two cars to the side of the lodge.
There are numerous places to visit for off-site activities or days out. Why not feed the animals at Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre, take a Highland Jeep Safari, go white water rafting or quad biking; take an organised boat trip around Loch Tay or play a round of golf in nearby Killin? History enthusiasts can visit Castle Menzies or Doune Castle (where the TV series Outlander is filmed) and nature lovers can take a walk around the scenic Dochart Falls. During the evening, why not visit Birks Cinema at Aberfeldy to watch the latest blockbuster?
The Boathouse restaurant and bar serves up a hearty Scottish-inspired menu with a great range of produce including Shetland mussels, freshly landed fish, steak pie or haggis with ‘neeps & tatties’. Special themed evenings take place, mostly during the summer months, and the bar area offers a cosy welcome if you fancy a drink or two. There‘s also a spacious outdoor balcony area overlooking the impressive loch, a marvellous place to enjoy sunny afternoons or the amazing night skies. Location Information
Eldersburn Lodge is located at Loch Tay in the Scottish Highlands. Only a short drive to the pretty village of Killin with a variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants.
The Falls of Dochart is located just outside Killin towards the western end of Loch Tay.
There are numerous attractions in the local area, including The Ben Lawers Mountain Range, Loch Tay Safaris, White Water Rafting, McQueen Gin Distillery and Castle Menzies.
The property is set in a private 140 acre Highland estate. On-site facilities include a bistro, a great range of outdoor activities and excellent fishing.
