Situated in the Central Highlands, on the shores of fabulous Loch Tay, the Highland Lodges estate in Perthshire can be found in one of the most stunningly beautiful areas of Scotland. It is surrounded by dramatic mountains, breath-taking lochs, lush parkland and sparkling rivers and is within easy driving distance of Edinburgh, Sterling and Glasgow. Ideal for visitors who are seeking a peaceful self-catering retreat, these comfortable lodges are perfect for couples or families, activity holidays or leisurely fishing breaks. Other amenities include The Boathouse bar and restaurant which extends a warm Scottish welcome to all guests; there’s a covered fire pit area onsite where you can relax; a children’s playground with slides, swings and a climbing frame; and a warm, cosy central recreation room with a large log burning stove. A whole array of activities are available to guests including boat hire, archery, axe throwing, golf, white-water rafting, paddle-boarding, hill and gorge walking and canoe tours.
Osprey Island Lodge sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms and has a great setting, providing you with some of the best views straight across the loch. Set on a single level, this spacious holiday lodge has a comfortable and homely feel to it. The open-plan living area features a well-equipped kitchen with a cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave; there is a dining table for 4 guests, a cosy sofa seating area, a coffee table and a couple of easy chairs. Floor to ceiling windows provide fabulous views across the loch towards the hillside woodland and distant mountain range. At the front of the lodge, accessed directly from the living room, you’ll find a spacious south-facing veranda with outdoor furniture – perfect for a spot of al fresco dining or a wee dram in the evenings whilst admiring the starry skies. There is a flat screen TV and Wifi is available throughout the property if required. Osprey Island Lodge has one double bedroom and one twin room. A spacious family bathroom provides you with a full size bath (shower over), WC and hand basin. Bed linen and towels provided. Allocated parking is available at the side of the lodge.
There are countless places to visit for off-site activities or days out around the local area….feed the animals at Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre, take a Highland Jeep Safari, go quad biking or white water rafting; take a boat trip around Loch Tay, visit the local gin distillery or enjoy a relaxing round of golf in nearby Killin. History buffs can visit Castle Menzies or Doune Castle (where the TV series Outlander is filmed) and nature lovers can walk around idyllic Dochart Falls. At night you can even visit the cinema at Aberfeldy to enjoy the latest blockbuster!
The Boathouse restaurant & bar serves up a hearty menu with a great range of Scottish-inspired produce including ‘Cullen Skink’, smoked salmon, freshly landed fish, steak pie or haggis with ‘neeps and tatties’ for example. Themed evenings often take place, mostly during the summer months, and the bar area offers a cosy welcome if you fancy cocktails or a just pint or two. There‘s a spacious outdoor balcony area overlooking the impressive loch, which is a great place to enjoy sunny afternoons or the clear night skies. Location Information
Osprey Island Lodge is located at Loch Tay in the Scottish Highlands. Only a short drive to the pretty village of Killin with a variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants.
The Falls of Dochart is located just outside Killin towards the western end of Loch Tay.
There are numerous attractions in the local area, including The Ben Lawers Mountain Range, Loch Tay Safaris, White Water Rafting, McQueen Gin Distillery and Castle Menzies.
The property is set in a private 140 acre Highland estate. On-site facilities include a bistro, a great range of outdoor activities and excellent fishing.
