The Moorings is situated in a wonderful position overlooking the River Yare in the popular village of Thorpe St Andrew. Thorpe St Andrews is located in the heart of the broads just South East of Norwich city centre and is an ideal base from which to enjoy your Norfolk Broads holiday.

The Moorings is a lovely riverside studio chalet, perfect for a couple. The property sleeps 2 people in one convertible double sofabed in the living area. There is a large decking area overlooking the river, ideal for sitting out, fishing and enjoying the views.

The Norfolk Broads is a very popular holiday destination with many holidaymakers returning year after year. With so many leisure activities available in the area such as fishing, boating, watersports and bird-watching, it's not hard to see why!

The Moorings is in a fantastic location on the Norfolk Broads, within easy reach of the local villages, pubs, restaurants and attractions.

The Norfolk Coast and sandy beaches are a short drive away from the property.

There are numerous family-friendly attractions in the local area, including Wroxham Barns, BeWilderwood, Bure Valley Railway and Broads Tours river trips.

Terms & Conditions


CHARGES & TERMS:

A deposit of £100 per break/holiday secures the reservation. The full cost of the holiday is payable 8 weeks before arrival. If you book less than 8 weeks prior to your holiday, we will require full payment at the time of booking.

CANCELLATION:

Cancellation after final payment made results in loss of all rental fees unless another guest is found in which case only the deposit is lost. If you cancel more than 8 weeks before the start date your deposit will be forfeited. If this is a concern guests may wish to take out holiday insurance.

PAYMENT:

All payments are made by card.

OCCUPANCY:

Occupancy shall be from 4pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day of departure.

GROUP BOOKINGS:

The owners reserve the right to refuse group bookings or other persons who in their opinion are unsuitable for the accommodation.

PETS:

Two well behaved pets will be accepted at and extra charge of £30.00 per pet per week and £20.00 per pet per short break. Pets are not allowed on furniture / beds at any time and not to be left in the property unnattended.

BED LINEN & TOWELS:

All bed linen, hand and bath towels are included in the holiday price.

ELECTRICITY & GAS:

Included in the hire charge from 1st April - 30th September, all other dates are charged at an extra charge of £25 per week & £15 per short break.

SMOKING:

For the comfort of all guests NO SMOKING is allowed in this property.

IN CASE OF COMPLAINT:

While it is unlikely that you should have a complaint about our holiday home, occasionally things do go wrong. If you have a problem during your stay, you MUST inform the owners immediately who will endeavour to rectify the matter. The owners will not accept liability for any dissatisfaction or other complaint not reported during your stay.

The latest terms and conditions of hire & your holiday contract will be with owners directly. All payments will be made to the owners directly with balances due 8 weeks beforehand. The Terms & Conditions will be sent out to you directly by the owners.

Fishing on the Broads

Important Information

  • Fishing is available from the property.
  • The variety of fish on the Broads include: pike, carp, eel, bream, roach, trench, perch and rudd.
  • A fishing licence is required, this can be purchased online via the Environment Agency here.
  • Fishing available during open season. Closed season is between 14th March - 16th June.

Thorpe St Andrew - One pub a very short walk away. There are several other pubs, restaurants and a cafe in the village.

Pretty Norfolk Broads Villages & market towns nearby - Horning, Coltishall, Potter Heigham, Ludham.

Norwich - The City of Norwich is a 10 minute drive or 40 minute walk away.

Museum of the Broads - Visit here to discover the history of the Broads. Picnic area next to the river, dog-friendly. Open Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 11am - 3pm.

Cycle routes in the Norfolk Broads - There are miles of cycle routes on the Norfolk Broads to enjoy. The Three Rivers Way is a purpose-built cycle route that connects Hoveton and Horning.

Bike Hire - Broads By Cycle offers bike hire in several pick-up and drop-off docking areas.

Great Yarmouth - Norfolk's premier sea-side resort. There are miles of golden sandy beaches, traditional sea-side amusements, a pleasure beach with rides and adventure golf and plenty of pubs/cafes/restaurants.

Wildlife - The Broads is home to a large number of species including seals, otters, water vole and chinese water deer.

Birds - There are many rare species of bird that have made the Broads their home, including bitterns, kingfishers, grebes, marsh harriers and warblers.
