Spring Heath Log Cabins are situated in 10 lovely acres of meadow and woodland. The 4 spacious and bright log cabins all have lovely views across the 2 well stocked fishing lakes on site. Each lodge is semi-detached and pet friendly.

Lodge 2 sleeps up to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms which can be arranged as 4 singles or one double and a twin. There is a comfortable open-plan living area which incorporates a comfy sofa sitting area with TV, a dining table and chairs and a well-equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The family bathroom has a W/C, wash basin and a large shower. Outside there is a south-facing veranda, allowing you to indulge in some al fresco dining or a spot of sunbathing in the warmer months.

There is also a private hot tub, which is available for use between 1st April and 31st October only and is included in the price. Prices for the lodge outside of these dates are lower as the hot tub is unavailable during Autumn and Winter.

Spring Heath is a wonderful location for anyone wishing to relax, unwind and soak up the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Within walking distance (about half a mile) you’ll find the traditional English village of Knockin where there is a local pub serving food. Further afield, why not take a drive to the lovely city of Chester where you can enjoy walking the historic lanes; take in the Roman ruins or impressive cathedral; visit Chester Zoo or simply enjoy the many shops, cafés and restaurants the city has to offer. Within easy driving distance from Spring Heath you’ll also find Shropshire Sculpture Park, the Cambrian Heritage Railway and Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve.

Location Information

Fishing on Ecclestone is included in your stay but fishing on Blurton is £10 per adult per day. Carp & coarse fishing available for people in wheelchairs or with mobility problems

The Village of Knockin has its post office, pub (The Bradford Arms), church and cricket club - walkable (approx. 1/2 a mile).

Knockin is situated between the historic towns of Shrewsbury (15 miles) and Oswestry (5 miles).

For outdoor enthusiasts horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, golf, walking, quad biking, paint balling, tennis & swimming are all within a 10 mile radius.

Spring Heath Fishery - Booking Terms & Conditions of Hire

A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the overall cost of your break is required to secure your booking. All outstanding booking payments must be made no later than 6 weeks before your planned arrival date, after this stage no refunds will be given. No reminders will be sent and if payment is not received by the due date you may risk losing your holiday & deposit. Bookings made within 6 weeks of arrival date must be paid in full at the time of the booking. Admittance is not allowed without full payment.

It is recommended that you take out your own holiday cancellation insurance.

Upon payment of your deposit we shall send you email confirmation of details of your stay together with the terms and conditions of your stay.

All bookings have a refundable security/damage deposit of £150 added, this is refunded by BACs within five days of departure once changeover clean has been done.

All log cabin breaks start at 3.00pm and cabins must be vacated no later than 10.00am on the last day of your break.

No extra guests other than those mentioned at time of booking are allowed unless the management is advised prior to arrival and the occupancy level has not been reached.

We reserve the right to cancel or make any amendments to your log cabin or caravan holiday without liability, which may be necessary owing to circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to inform you as soon as possible.

We endeavour to provide facilities as advertised or previously available. We reserve the right to alter, delete or close amenities or facilities without prior notice and without compensation.

Pets – Up to two friendly pets are welcome in the log cabins and on the caravan park at a small additional charge. No pets to be left unattended in Cabins unless crated. Please let us know if you are bringing animals at the time of booking – and please contacts us if you plan to bring a pet which is not a domestic dog or cat. All pets must be controlled and not interfere with other guests, you may be asked to remove your pet should it cause a nuisance. No refunds for your break will be given should you fail to control your pet and you are asked to remove it from the site.

We do not allow, fires, BBQs or candles in cabins/ hot tub/sauna or on decked areas due to the flammable materials used in construction of our cabins and decks.

The booking of a log cabin or caravan pitch is completely independent of any booking for the fishery.

Fishing day tickets for cabin guests are £10 per adult per day on Blurton Pool. Fishing is included in the price of your booking for Ecclestone Pool.

Please note, any breaches of the fishery rules could lead to residents being denied the privilege to fish, no refunds for cabin or caravan residents will be given for your stay.

The fishery may close without notice due to fish spawning or any other fishery related issue.

Please be considerate of your fellow residents particularly at night.

Force majeure – we regret we cannot accept any responsibility or pay any compensation for circumstances beyond our control such as natural disasters, industrial disputes, fires, technical problems, acts of government etc.

Bookings are non-transferable, this includes hot tub & sauna facilities.

No additional guests to stay in the cabins other than those agreed at the time of booking.

We do not permit the charging of electric vehicles.

Hot tubs only available for bookings commencing after 1st April and ending 31st October.

No hot tub bookings for single-sex parties.

Spring Heath Carp Fishing

Important Information

  • Fishing on Ecclestone is included in your stay but fishing on Blurton is £10 per adult per day.
  • Ecclestone lake is the nearest one to the lodges and is suitable for all fishing abilities. It contains coarse fish and also carp up to 15lbs; fishing there is included in the price of the holiday. Blurton lake contains carp up to 30lbs and is suitable for experienced anglers, there is charge of £10 per adult per day to fish there.
  • Carp & coarse fishing available for people in wheelchairs or with mobility problems.

  • EA Rod Licence must be held.
  • No fish to be removed or killed.

Oswestry Castle - 6 miles away, 15 minutes by car. Once upon a time this was a significant castle for the town of Oswestry, pop in to find out why, with stunning views from the top, you will just need to follow a short winding path.

Chester Zoo - 37 miles away, 50 minutes by car. One of the UK's largest zoos, measuring at 51 hectares, having a variety of animals that call it home, such as African Painted Dogs, Lions, Meerkats, Penguins & more inlcuding the UK's largest tropical biodome.

Powis Castle & Garden - 17 miles away, 30 minutes by car. A National Trust site where you can visit celebrated gardens that have a medival castle dramitically rising above them.

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - 18 miles away, 30 minute by car. A navigable aqueduct that carries the Llangollen Canal ocer the River Dee, standing at 128ft high this 18 arched structure has UNESCO heritage status, this feat of engineering needs to be explored.

Access Information

  • Parking is adjacent to the lodge on a tarmac surface approximately 1 metre from the entrance.
  • Ramp access is available and then 2 steps to the decking. There is the assistance of handrails.
  • There is a threshold step via the French doors to enter inside.
  • The property is all on one level inside.
  • Lodge 2 is close to the coarse lake for fishing. This is accessed via a grass surface.
  • Please note that there are no direct paths leading to the fishing lakes.
  • The distance to the fishing lakes is approximately 40 - 50 metres from your lodge.
  • There are a number of fishing platforms for the less-abled angler or for those that would just like a dry platform to fish from.
  • Fishing is not available directly from the property.
