Lakeview Lodge 2 is a comfortable log cabin style holiday lodge situated in the grounds of Springwood Fishery near the market town of Wadhurst on the Kent/Sussex border. This 1 bedroom fishing lodge will accommodate up to 4 people, with one single bedroom and a double and a sofa bed in the living area (a charge of £10 is required for use of the sofa bed). There is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Outside there is a balcony and decking area overlooking the scenic fishing lakes, perfect for al fresco meals at your leisure.

A simply great location for people who enjoy a spot of fishing, the site has 4 fishing pools to choose from which are named Top Pool, Spring Pool, Long Pool and Beech Pool. Here you can practice your angling skills whilst trying to bag Carp over 30lbs or Catfish which weigh in excess of 60lbs. Fishing is included for all lodge guests. This is great location and opportunity to get the whole family involved. Children are welcome to fish but anyone under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and they are not permitted to fish the Spring Pool or night fish. Before heading off to see what your catch of the day will be, enjoy the tranquillity of having morning cuppa on your balcony.

After a mornings fishing and an alfresco lunch, take advantage of the afternoons to get out and explore. You are in the prime location that you are only an hour from the coast so perhaps take a drive to Hastings where there is lots to see and do as a family and also for couples. Learn more abound the famous battle in 1066 where you can walk across the famous battlefield and learn more in the visitor centre. Hastings high street is old and quaint with lots of independent shops and restaurants. Alternatively, head to Brighton and blow off the cobwebs as you take a stroll along the pier. Head up the i360 observation deck for a spectacular view of Brighton, South Downs and the English Channel. Finish with a tour of Queen Victoria’s Royal Pavilion. Have dinner at one of the many nice restaurants on offer or have fish and chips on the beach. Head back to your lodge where you can relax overlooking the lake in anticipation of what you will catch the next day.

Terms & Conditions


1. The hirer agrees that all fishermen will hold an Environment Agency Rod Licence.

2. The hirer agrees to leave the lodges in a clean and tidy manor and to use the recycling bins available.

3. The hirer acknowledges that Springwood Fishery accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury to person(s) and /or spectators.

4. The hirer agrees to abide by the Rules and regulations of the fishery.

5. On day of arrival fishing is available from 12pm(noon), Lodge from 3pm.

6. On day of departure fishing available to 12pm(noon), Lodge vacated by 10am.

7. All bookings include fishing, accommodation, electric, gas and onsite parking.

8. Bed linen is supplied, however please bring your own towels.

9. Additional Guest are not permitted onsite unless previously arranged with owner.

10. Deposits are non-refundable.

11.Pets are welcome on site and in some of our lodges, please adhere to the following site rules. Well behaved small and medium sized dogs are allowed, if you have larger sized dogs please get in contact prior to booking. Dogs must be kept on the lead at all times on site, especially around the fishery as to not disturb other guests. Pets must not be left unattended in the accommodation at any time. Pets are not allowed on the furniture or soft furnishings, please bring bedding for your pets. Extra charges may be charged on check out if your pet has caused damage or additional cleaning is required.

Springwood Fishery

Important Information

  • All litter to be removed from the fishery.
  • All anglers must be in possession of a valid rod licence.
  • We are a catch and release fishery. No fish to be taken away under any circumstance.
  • Do not leave equipment unattended, if you leave your swim for more than 3 hours you must remove your equipment unless agreed otherwise with management.
  • No fish to be moved between lakes without the consent of management.
  • Micro barbed or barbless hooks only.
  • A maximum of 2 rods may be fished at one time.
  • Fishing a line not connected to a rod is prohibited.
  • No baited rod to be left unattended at any time.
  • Do not fish outside of the area of your swim shown on the map provided without speaking to who ever is occupying the water you wish to fish.
  • No wading.
  • A maximum of 48hours at the same swim you are welcome to stay on but you must move peg to make it fair for everyone.
  • No live or dead baits.
  • No fixed leads No bolt rigs all rigs must be able to break free of the lead in the event of a break of.
  • All anglers must use minimum of 42” landing net a large padded unhooking mat and a minimum of 15lb line to be used on the spring pool.
  • unhooking mats must be used on all lakes on sites.
  • Mistreatment to the fish will not be tolerated, if found guilty you will be asked to leave.
  • Please keep your bait covered. There are free roaming goats.
  • Bait boats are allowed in your own water if used unsafe or in annoying manor this rule will change.
  • Toilets are provided on site by the carpark, use them or get a lifetime ban.
  • Please approach the waters by authorized footpaths only.
  • No persons, other than members, on site accommodation guests, water owners and their authorised guests, are permitted to fish springwood waters.
  • Dogs allowed as long as they are kept on leads, under control and are picked up after.
  • No open fires or BBQ. Shielded stoves must be used with care to avoid fire risk.
  • Night fishing Beach Pool and Spring Pool ONLY in proper fishing shelters.
  • Keep noise to a minimum, this includes alarms, radios etc.
  • Torches to be used sensibly at dawn and dusk, to not cause a nuisance to residents.
  • No angler may use boats of any description or any inflatable device for any purpose.
  • No walking along the jetty to the island.
  • There is no closed season, however water owner has the right to close the lake at any time if they wish.
  • Parking is strictly in the designated parking areas. No driving or parking on the grass.
  • Please abide by the 5mph speed limit.
  • Cars are parked at all venues, at the owner’s risk.
  • Gates to the fishery must be kept shut and locked at all times.
  • No trespassing into the adjoining fields or woodland.
  • The management accepts no responsibility for injury, death, loss, damage or theft to persons, cars or equipment whilst on the complex and reserves the right to close all or parts of said complex at any time. Damage to the complex will result in prosecution.
  • Alcohol in moderation.
  • The above rules are there to protect the welfare of our Anglers and our Fish Stocks, repeated failure to comply with our rules will result in ejection from our Fishery.
