Lakeview Lodge 4 was brand new in 2021. A log cabin style, single storey holiday lodge, this property is located at Springwood Fishery on the Kent/Sussex border, just 2 ½ miles from Ticehurst village (local pubs) and only 6 miles from the historic market town of Wadhurst.

This is a great location for people who like to enjoy a spot of fishing as well as having nearby places of interest within striking distance. In the grounds there are 4 fishing pools to choose from- Top Pool, Spring Pool, Long Pool and Beech Pool. Here you can try your hand at bagging Carp over 30lbs or Catfish in excess of 60lbs. Fishing is included for all lodge guests.

This comfortable and airy property can accommodate up to 4 people in two twin rooms. There is an open plan living and dining room, plus a spacious kitchen area. Outside there is a private decking area, open at both ends for easy access, where you can enjoy BBQs with your friends or family.

1. The hirer agrees that all fishermen will hold an Environment Agency Rod Licence.

2. The hirer agrees to leave the lodges in a clean and tidy manor and to use the recycling bins available.

3. The hirer acknowledges that Springwood Fishery accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury to person(s) and /or spectators.

4. The hirer agrees to abide by the Rules and regulations of the fishery.

5. On day of arrival fishing is available from 9am, Lodge from 3pm.

6. On day of departure fishing available to 6pm, Lodge vacated by 11am.

7. All bookings include fishing, accommodation, electric, gas and onsite parking.

8. Bed linen is supplied, however please bring your own towels.

9. Additional Guest are not permitted onsite unless previously arranged with owner.

10. Garden Rooms is suitable for 2 adults only. Children under 16 are not permitted.

Springwood Fishery

Important Information

  • Fishing is available from 9am on day of arrival & until 6pm on day of departure for lodge guests.
  • Night fishing is available on Spring Pool & Beech Pool.

  • To fish you must hold a valid rod licence & abide by the Angling rules for these lakes.
  • Please bring your own fishing tackle.
  • There are 4 fishing pools to choose from, please see the details below on each one.

  • TOP POOL:
  • Well suited for elderly & less able anglers with flat banks & is located right next to the car park.
  • Picnic tables where non-anglers can eat & relax.
  • Smallest pool on-site & is great for beginners.
  • Depth varies from 18 inches to 5 feet.
  • Common, Mirror & Grass Carp which run to over 20lbs.
  • Bream up to 3lbs, Tench, Perch & a few Golden Orfe.
  • Night fishing is not permitted on this lake.

  • SPRING POOL:
  • 3 acre lake in a woodland setting, 14 feet in depth at the centre.
  • Stocked with Catfish at over 60lbs, Common, Mirror & Grass Carp up to 30lbs. Tench to 8lbs, Bream to 6lbs, Perch to 4lbs & Rudd to nearly 2lbs.
  • A path runs around the perimeter of the lake to provide access to the pegs.

  • LONG POOL:
  • Stocked with Common & Mirror Carp which are between 20lbs-30lbs. Grass Carp to 25lbs. Good stocks of Perch up to 4lbs & Rudd at around 1lb.
  • Night fishing is not permitted on this lake.
  • The banks drop steeply to the bottom, with maximum depth of between 6-7 feet.

  • BEECH POOL:
  • 1/2 acre pool surrounded by trees.
  • 6 pegs, although you can fish from the bank should you wish to.
  • Depth of up to 14 feet & has steeply sloping banks down to the centre.
  • Stocked with large Catfish & Carp. Impressive Grass Carp up to 30lbs. Common & Mirror Carp up to 26lbs, with smaller 5lb Tench, Perch, Bream & Rudd also present.
  • Night fishing is permitted all year round in Beech Pool.

  • RULES:
  • All litter to be removed from the venue, do not leave bait on banks.
  • No fish to be taken away under any circumstance.
  • Night anglers on Beech Pool & Spring Pool must use proper fishing shelters, umbrellas or bivvies only.
  • Please approach waters by authorized footpaths only.
  • No open fires or BBQs. Except at the designated BBQ area.
  • Shielded stoves must be used with care to avoid fire risk.
  • Micro barbed or barbless hooks only.
  • No guns (including air guns) or any other means of trapping game to be in member's possession.
  • All anglers must abide by Environmental Agency Regulations.
  • A maximum of two rods may be fished at any one time.
  • No freshwater live or dead baits to be brought to be used.
  • No baited rod to be left unattended at any time.
  • No angler may use boats of any description or any inflatable device for any purpose.
  • Any angler will not fish further than the middle of the water.
  • All anglers must use suitable unhooking mats (minimum 2ft x 4ft, also available for hire).
  • Keep noise to a minimum, this includes bite alarms.
  • No bait boats.
  • All anglers must use suitable landing nets (available for hire).
  • Any persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Do not fish further than the middle of the water if the opposite swim is occupied.
  • Torches to be used sensibly at dawn & dusk to not cause a nuisance to residents.
  • The above rules are there to protect the welfare of our Anglers & our Fish Stocks, repeated failure to comply with our rules will result in ejection from our Fishery.
