The Limes is a situated in a wonderful position on the banks of the Womack Water, a small broad just off the River Thurne. Here you are only a 5 minute walk from the village of Ludham where there is a local pub, a traditional village store and a tackle shop. Life on the water is what it is all about in this beautiful quiet stretch of the Norfolk Broads. In a prime location at the water’s edge and adjacent to village life, the emphasis is on rest and relaxation.
This lovely riverside cottage is perfect for a small family or couples alike. The property sleeps 4 people in one double and one twin bedroom. There is an enclosed garden with views down to the river and a 29ft private mooring, ideal for fishing and enjoying the views. The Broads has its own little microclimate and an abundance of varied wildlife throughout the year. One of the best ways to observe the wildlife is out on the water. There are many boatyards available offering boat hire with Potter Heigham probably being the most local to you. With your own private mooring available there is nothing stopping you.
You have own private rear decking to enjoy your morning cuppa or sit with a late afternoon aperitif before heading to dinner at the family friendly King’s Arms in Ludham. Within walking distance you will pass by the old Maltings and some pretty thatched houses. Alternatively, head to the Womack Staithe which has a pretty tree lined green and is a nice spot for a picnic. If you wish to head further afield then a short drive will take you to Hickling Broad and Horsey. Perhaps more peaceful than other bustling areas but is equally as pretty. Hickling Broad reserve is open dawn until dusk and is home to some the UK’s rarest plants and animals so be sure to bring your binoculars. At Horsey there is a boardwalk over the sand dunes where you may spot the seals on the beach.
The medieval city of Norwich and the Norfolk coast are also a short drive away but you may just enjoy exploring all the pretty villages doted along the river navigations allowing you the time to appreciate the slower pace of life and recharge the batteries. This waterside holiday provides you with everything you need to for an enjoyable stay and will most probably see you returning to the area time and time again.
