The Photographic Competition was launched in 2010 to provide a platform to celebrate Scotland as a key destination for nature photographers from around the world and to acknowledge the excellence of the photographic work that is undertaken here through the award of the title of “Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year”. Now in its second year, the competition invites entries of images taken in Scotland by professional, semi-professional or amateur photographers.
The 2011 Photographic Competition will again seek to find the “Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year” through the main categories of:
- Scottish Wildlife
- Scottish Landscape
- Scottish Botanical
- Natural Abstract
The Scottish Nature Photography Awards aims to encourage and promote emerging talent. To that end, this year entries are invited for:

“Junior Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year” – open to under-18s.
