Set centrally in the Scottish Highlands, the family owned Portnellan Highland estate is a stunning location and great base and location to head off exploring the delights of Scotland with easy access to Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Scottish West Coast, Oban and the Gateway to the Isles, Fort William, Loch Ness and so much more.

With majestic snow capped mountains, imposing craggy munros, spectacular views over the glens and lochs of Loch Luibhair and Loch Dochart and tumbling rivers this private Highland estate is the ideal spot to soak up the best Scotland has to offer.

Just outside the picturesque village of Crianlarich there is a large choice of hill walking, mountain biking, road cycling and spectacular journeys by car to enjoy particularly down to Glencoe. Explore the ruined castle at Loch Dochart by boat or canoe just below the estate, fish the river and lochs, clay pigeon shooting or wildlife safaris. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

A short walk down from the lodges are the two lochs (Loch Luibhair and Loch Dochart) joined by a short stretch of river offering five miles of excellent game fishing. A small island on Loch Dochart where the Eilean Dochart castle ruin is situated. The lochs, castle and river can be explored with the free use of Portnellan’s kayaks, canadian canoes and rowing boats. There is also free use of bicycles to enjoy the old railway line and trails around.
